Mexico 2015
For the first time the newlyweds and Jaime's parents were able to head to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for some much needed time to relax, dance, eat and enjoy the beautiful culture and weather!
Pipis
One of our favorite restaurants in PV is this little place in the town called Pipi’s. They have the BEST queso fondido which is one of Jaime and Adrianna’s favorite dishes filled with cheese and chorizo served with a side of fresh flour tortillas. They had margaritas the size of a fountain and of course the traditional tequila shots. Jaime and Adrianna took their parents here the first night because they knew they would love the live Mariachi’s that walk and sing around the restaurant. They loved them so much they kept paying them to stay at our table and play the whole night! We had our own private Mariachi band.
It was really special to see these two so relaxed and happy! |

El Malecon
Everyday we went into town to explore along the Malecon. We tried the street food, enjoyed the local sculptures, looked at the beautiful paintings and street art and of course did some shopping! Since it was the weekend of Dia De Los Muertos, there were a lot of decorations and altars set up. On one particular night, Jaime and Adrianna ran into one of the artist’s they bought a painting from on their last trip to PV and he even remembered them! They also picked up two more pieces of art to bring and add to their home which is a tradition for every vacation.

Burrito Beach
One of our favorite places to eat is called Burrito Beach in PV. We stumbled upon this place last time we came to PV. It’s a little whole in the wall tienda with the best carne asada and chorizo you have ever had. Every time we go we each order a carne asada burrito with 5 small chorizo tacos to share. We took our parents there for the first time and shortly after his first 5 taco’s, Saul ordered 5 more…we knew he would like it! I think we went back everyday we were there….

Dia De Los Muertos
We were fortunate to be in PV for this special holiday. There happened to be a huge festival in town that travels to a different city in Mexico every year! Jaime and Adrianna dressed up in a traditional costume! This picture was taken at the hotel.
Festival in PV
We went into town to watch a program about Dia De Los Muertos. It was so cool to see people of all ages dressed in costume. Jaime and Adrianna were a big hit at the event. We lost track of how many photos we were asked to take with people. We were also caught on camera a few times because of our outfits. Shout out to Ma for Adrianna’s face and hair just like Frida. One of our favorite random halloween outfits was this little baby dressed as Nacho Libre…he even made the perfect face for the photo! We also got to pass out candy to the kids that wandered around trick-o-treating. We were ambushed and ran out of candy so fast!

La Bodeguita Del Medio
One of the places we went to was a Cuban restaurant . The food was amazing but the best part was the presentation of the dessert. They made it in front of us and used an orange brandy that they lit on fire to make the sauce of the flan! There was also a live band we enjoyed dancing the night away.
More Dancing
After the Cuban restaurant we ventured a few doors down to one of our favorite places to eat and dance with more live music. They played everything from salsa to disco and the fajitas were pretty amazing!
Cafe De Olla
While Jaime and Adrianna were sitting by the pool they struck a conversation with two men who recommended this restaurant and said “You have to go you won’t be disappointed!” Well they were right! The food was delicious, the interior design was very unique with all kinds of knick knacks and all the food was made on the grill! They even had empanadas and queso fondido! Also they had live music which seemed to be the theme of the week. After stuffing our faces we found a little ice cream store down the street and then basically rolled home.
Photo Shoot at Sunset
While we were sitting by the pool two men with camera came up to us and said “You’re a beautiful couple we would love to give you a free photo shoot and you can take any picture for free.” Of course we said yes knowing we would probably want more than just one photo so it worked out for everyone in the end and for a great deal we got professional photos at sunset!
